government. According to Mr. Wolowyna, persons of Ukrainian ancestry residing in the United States constitute only 0.3% of the total population. This rather unimpressive number looks much more substantial when stated in absolute terms approximately 900,000. At least, this is the number of people who identified themselves in the Census of 2000 as having Ukrainian ancestry.

Some of the data compiled by Mr. Wolowyna can be downloaded free from the company’s website. The tables in Excel format that are publicly available include a distribution of Americans of Ukrainian Ancestry by state, and breakdowns by sex, age, and language spoken at home.

The great majority of those who claim Ukrainian ancestry, said Mr. Wolowyna, speak English only, although 13.3% speak Ukrainian and 14.1% speak Russian. That is to say, “of ALL persons of Ukrainian ancestry in the US, a higher percentage speaks Russian than Ukrainian,” which he calls an “unusual fact”. This can be explained by “the very large migration from Ukraine in the last 10 years more than 140,000 and 54% of them said that they speak Russian at home, while only 44% said that they speak Ukrainian at home. Bureau of the Census (BUCEN). As this is a sample, the numbers are not exactly equal to the official numbers based on the complete census. In general, the differences are quite small and, as with every sample, the smaller the subpopulation the larger the sampling error.

Informed Decisions, Inc. Demographic, educational, and economic characteristics are just a few of the selections that one can request, and the applications are pretty extensive. Mr. Wolowyna suggested these examples to illustrate how the data can be used:

Youth organizations: how many persons in certain age groups and how many of them speak Ukrainian

Any general organization: total number of potential members in the city (those who do not speak Ukrainian and are not likely to be active in the community: by age, sex, education, income, marital status, etc.)

Credit Unions: number of person by income, if owns house (value, if has mortgage, how much is the mortgage/month, how many cars in the household, etc.)

Professional organizations: how many doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc., and compare these numbers with the number of members they have now.

Geographical distribution of all persons of Ukrainian ancestry: how many by zip code.

A detailed statistical profile of all persons of Ukrainian ancestry in a city could be very useful for getting a better idea of all potential members for the different organizations, not just those who are already engaged.

It officially the Dogg days of Bluesfest as the summer extravaganza kickstarted its second half with a healthy helping of hip hop, with A$AP Rocky, Deltron 3030, Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg taking the Main Stage Tuesday night.

As Lauryn Hill set ran extra long after opening her show with a 40 minute DJ rave up there was some mild fretting, but little in the way of fanfare to settle the fans who had already spilled over into Snoop Main Stage camp.

It was nearly 45 minutes into his scheduled 9:30 start before Snoop first appeared amidst a heady haze of smoke, his DJ puffing down his own Philly blunt onstage and encouraging the swelling horde of about 25,000 one of the bigger Bluesfest crowds of the year to do the same.

Not that they needed any encouragement as Snoop dropped the beat on I Wanna Rock.

With all the f bombs, n bombs, mf b and hoes dropped throughout the evening, the language quickly became less offensive and more a part of the vernacular, just an easy and well established excuse to rhyme.

“Anybody in the house smoke weed?” Snoop asked redundantly.

The answer, apparently, is everybody, as the crowd obliged his infectious breakout hit, Gin and Juice with some stimulants of their own.

All fans had to do was close their bloodshot eyes to envision themselves “Rollin down the street smokin indo, sippin on gin and juice.”

He hit up California Gurls, the Katy Perry tune to which Snoop lent his considerable street cred, making the popstar a whole lot cooler than she really should have been.

And by the rapidly approaching deadline, Snoop charmed all the “lovely single ladies” to whom he dedicated the deliciously dirty, and rather blunt I Wanna F You, and the sexual energy of Sensula Seduction.

Clearly, Snoop doesn mince words, and “the King of California” pulls no punches when it comes to getting things his way. early gangsta wave from under Dr. Dre immense shadow,

Snoop could have forgiven the competing coasts to give due props to Harlem A$AP Rocky, one of the emerging bright lights on the hip hop scene, who heated up the Main Stage.

Opening with Pretty Flacko, Rocky raged through his hour long opening set with his two man A$AP crew, reeling off rapid fire ghetto rhymes and bass heavy beats.

The second track, Bucket Noise, from his upcoming Live Love A$AP debut, came without any beats at all, just a throbbing bass drop, the rhythm provided solely by Rocky fresh flow.

“I came to party, I young,” said Rocky, streetwise beyond his 23 years. “I just want to welcome you to my world.”

With that, Rocky amped up the swagger with Wassup, and requested all purple lights for Purple Swag, an ode to his favourite cold beverage, and judging by his approval of the purple cloud hanging over the sun stroked party folk, his favourite smoke as well.

“Purple drink, I still sip / Purple weed, blunt still lit.”

Get the picture?

An aggressive Brand New Guy followed, giving way to an equally belligerent Bass, with a trio of slick singles, Goldie, Trilla and Peso coming in quick succession.

As the Bluesfest returned in full force after turning the keys to the Cadillac over to Nickelback for an otherwise off day and surprise,

The Razorbacks overcame a major scare to beat the Bulldogs 21 20 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. It was Arkansas’ 10th straight win in a home opener, but much closer than expected. The Razorbacks were a 20 point favorite.

“I know everybody would have, including myself at the end of the day, would have liked to come out of here with a larger margin of victory,” Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said. “But . I knew (the Bulldogs) were going to be a good football team, very well coached.

“I don’t know if my first three years here we would have won that football game, A, from the way we called it to B, the way we rallied there at the end and were able to pull it out. A lot of times we were in that exact same situation and came away with defeat.”

Austin Allen’s 4 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Sprinkle with 6:37 remaining gave the Razorbacks the lead. Louisiana Tech drove to its own 48 on the ensuing possession, but Deatrich Wise and Jeremiah Ledbetter teamed up to sack Bulldogs quarterback J’mar Smith for a 10 yard loss on what would end up being Tech’s final offensive play.

The sack forced Louisiana Tech to punt the ball back to Arkansas. The Razorbacks had a second and 2 after an offsides penalty, but the Bulldogs’ defense stuffed Rawleigh Williams on consecutive runs to force the decisive fourth down play.

“You make the fourth down decision looking to have success,” Bielema said. “The last one, it’s just a gut feel. I just had a feeling we were going to have a nice push, and it ended up sealing the game.”

Arkansas caught a break early in the fourth quarter when Louisiana Tech kicker Jonathan Barnes missed a 40 yard field goal attempt off the left upright. The kick would have given the Bulldogs a two score lead.

Barnes had made field goals of 43 and 20 yards in the third quarter to give Louisiana Tech a 20 14 lead.

He missed a 54 yard attempt to end the first half. The game was tied 14 14 at halftime.

The Razorbacks took advantage of Barnes’ fourth quarter miss with a 13 play, 77 yard drive that was capped by Allen’s fourth down pass to Sprinkle. Allen rolled to his right on the play then threw back across the field to Sprinkle behind the Bulldogs’ defense.

“I’m glad (Bielema) called it,” Allen said. “We’d been practicing that play all week, everybody knew what they were doing and we did it perfectly. It worked out for us.”

That was one of the few highlights for Arkansas’ pass game. Allen was sacked four times and hurried several more. He also threw two interceptions in the first half that Louisiana Tech converted into touchdowns.

Allen finished his first career start 20 of 29 for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Arkansas’ run game also struggled at times. Aided by sacks, the Bulldogs held the Razorbacks to 109 yards on 40 carries.

Williams was Arkansas’ bright spot in the run game. Playing his first game since suffering a major neck injury last October, the sophomore finished with 96 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown.

The Bulldogs took a 7 0 lead on Smith’s 9 yard touchdown run with 9:11 to play in the first quarter, but the Razorbacks responded with two scores to take the lead.

Arkansas’ first touchdown of the season was on a 6 yard run by Williams with 2:52 left in the first quarter. The Razorbacks took the lead on a 13 yard pass from Allen to Jared Cornelius midway through the second quarter.

It looked as if Arkansas may extend its lead when Dre Greenlaw intercepted a pass in Louisiana Tech territory on the Bulldogs’ next possession. But Allen was intercepted by Prince Sam inside the red zone.

Sam returned the interception 34 yards and the Bulldogs put together a seven play scoring drive that was capped by Jarred Craft’s 1 yard touchdown run 1:40 before halftime.

Apple will make the most expensive acquisition in its history, after confirming a deal to buy Dr Dre’s Beats Electronics for 3 billion dollars ( The luxury headphone brand and its music streaming service was co founded by music mogul Jimmy Iovine and US rapper and producer Dr Dre, who reportedly called himself the “first billionaire in hip hop”.

Technology giant Apple is stumping up the huge price tag, by far the highest it has ever paid in a takeover, to counter a threat posed to its iTunes store.

The announcement comes three weeks after deal negotiations were leaked to the media.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook said the main selling point of the deal was Beats Music, the music streaming subsidiary of the electronics maker which launched this year and has more than 250,000 subscribers.

Sales of songs and albums online, a business dominated by iTunes for the past decade, have started to reduce as the popularity of music streaming services such as Pandora and Spotfify grows.

Although Apple broke into streaming with the launch of iTunes Radio last September, the service has not been as popular or as lucrative as the company expected, according to sources.

Apple is counting on the Beats acquisition to boost its popularity with teenagers and younger adults while trying to remain a leader in the changing digital music industry.

Beats was founded in 2008 by Dr Dre and Mr Iovine, a veteran record industry executive who is currently chairman of Universal Music Group’s Interscope Geffen A Records. It now dominates the luxury headphones market.

Mr Cook said: “Music is such an important part of all of our lives and holds a special place within our hearts at Apple.

“That’s why we have kept investing in music and are bringing together these extraordinary teams so we can continue to create the most innovative music products and services in the world.”

Mr Iovine said: “I’ve always known in my heart that Beats belonged with Apple.

“The idea when we started the company was inspired by Apple’s unmatched ability to marry culture and technology.

Mr Iovine, 61, and Dr Dre, 49, will both become key executives in Apple’s music divisions.

The sale consists of 2.6 billion dollars ( billion) in cash and 400 million dollars ( million) in Apple shares. The deal is expected to be completed before the end of September.

Apple’s biggest acquisition had previously been its 400 million dollar purchase of NeXt Computer.

The purchase marks Mr Cook’s biggest strategic break from the way the company was led under co founder Steve Jobs, who died in October 2011.

Mr Jobs favoured smaller acquisitions and believed subscription music plans would prove to be unpopular.

red beats headphones Are my small breasts a result of a hormone deficiency during puberty

where to buy beats headphones Are my small breasts a result of a hormone deficiency during puberty

My question is whether during puberty my body did not produce or release enough of the hormones needed for breasts to grow and that would explain the appearance and size of my breasts which resemble very beginning female puberty or early adolescent breast development?

Can a test be done to determine this and is there any ethical medical treatment to increase breast size?

I compare my breast development to a small person who has a growth hormone deficiency and is short, but I know that the seriousness of mine compared to them is inconsequential.

Could a specific type of doctor be able to help me? I have not asked my GP that question, as I was too embarrassed? I am not fixated on having much larger breasts but actually having breasts would be nice compared to nubs.

I have wondered, given the smallness of my breasts, whether a deficiency during puberty, might have occurred.

AnswerThis is not a trivial problem and should receive the same attention as any other medical problem.

Basically, there are two kinds of explanation for your problem the first is a genetic disorder (even though there is no similar problem in other female family members), and the second is a hormonal problem around puberty.

There is a third group which is patients who have neither of the above problems (a kind of ‘all the rest’ group).

In the first group, no treatment is likely to help the breast size, but in the second group there may well be effective medical treatments.

See, the issue is not just your appearance, but maybe one day you’d want to have a baby and might want to breastfeed not possible if your breasts have never developed!

There is also another reason to take this problem seriously the lack of breast development may be only one sign of an underlying treatable hormonal problem.

There are doctors who specialise in such problems and your GP might even know a local specialist clinic, so I think that (setting embarrassment aside) your first step should be to see your GP.

Ask for a referral to either an endocrinologist (who specialises in hormonal problems), or, maybe a gynaecological endocrinologist (who specialises in hormonal disorders of females).

Good luck. It might be that you discover a successful treatment is just around the corner! The NetDoctor Medical Team

BALTIMORE (TNS) In the months after the London Olympics in 2012, Michael Phelps wanted little to do with the business of being Michael Phelps. The most decorated Olympian in history was depressed.

“I didn’t want to talk to anybody,” he recalled. “I just wanted to crawl into a dark hole and be left alone.”

Four years later, as he makes plans to teach water safety to kids, to invest in his own businesses, to watch his son, Boomer, learn to walk, Phelps feels none of the old dread. The retired Olympian is confident he’ll continue to feel contented with a life no longer defined by the dark lines at the bottom of a swimming pool.

“I think just where I am in life, that’s why it’s so different,” he said. “Having a family, but also just being engaged in everything in my life. Before, I was just so distant from everything. I didn’t want to talk to anybody. I didn’t want to be around anybody. I didn’t want anything. That’s the biggest difference.”

Phelps was in Edgewood, Maryland, on Friday for a visit to that branch of the Boys Girls Clubs of Harford County, where he paired with one of his sponsors, Krave Jerky, to donate $20,000 to help expand the Michael Phelps Foundation’s “im” water safety and recreation program.

The 23 degree temperature was a bit of a shock compared to the 75 degrees Phelps and his wife, Nicole, felt before they boarded a flight from their home in Arizona. But the cold did not diminish Phelps’ holiday cheer.

“Michael, Michael, Michael,” the elementary school kids chanted as Phelps ducked in to share lunch with them. They shrieked with glee after he handed out gift bags containing swim goggles and Beats by Dre headphones (another of his sponsors).

Phelps urged the kids to ask for help from the adults in their lives. “It’s hard to go through life by yourself,” he said. “I learned that the hard way.” But he also advised them to write down their greatest ambitions, post them in a visible place and make plans to pursue them step by step. It was the path he followed from a seemingly mundane childhood in Towson, Maryland, to 28 Olympic medals.

Phelps broke into laughter after one boy raised his hand and wished him well should he decide to unretire for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

“I was like, ‘Wow, man, I’m getting shots thrown at me from every side.’ Even little kids are telling me to come back,” he said afterward, grinning.

He knows he’ll face questions about a comeback for at least the next three years. Why wouldn’t people wonder after he won five gold medals and a silver at age 31?

Just as he said in Rio de Janeiro, Phelps told the kids he would “probably” never swim competitively again. He can’t help leaving the slightest wiggle room. But at the same time, he recalled how his mother, Debbie, greeted him at his hotel in Rio after his last Olympic race in August.

“Four more years?” she said.

“I was like, ‘Mom, you’ve got to stop,'” he remembered. “This is it. I’m done. I came back for one more.”

He said he knew it for sure as he approached the wall in his last individual race, the 100 meter butterfly. It was the only one he lost in Rio.

“I said to myself in the last couple strokes, ‘Either this is going to end perfectly, or it’s going to end how it’s supposed to,'” he said. “And I’ve never had that thought before.”

In the moments after the race, Phelps, the most hard bitten competitor his sport has ever known, seemed utterly content with his silver medal.

“It’s just a good way to close my career,” he said Friday. “There’s nothing else I need to do or want to do.”

And yet, even Phelps’ agent and close friend, Peter Carlisle, recently said that if Los Angeles wins its bid for the 2024 Olympics, he wouldn’t be surprised to see Phelps swimming at age 39.

“I was like, ‘Wow, thanks, Peter,'” Phelps said. “I really appreciate you firing that one out there.”

Phelps has gone through the past few months in the usual post Olympic whirlwind, striking up new sponsorship agreements, besting fellow Rio gold medalists Simone Biles and Aly Raisman on the television program Lip Sync Battle and traveling to China for appearances on behalf of Under Armour and Beats by Dre.

Earlier this week, he was in New York for Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year gala, where LeBron James told him, “You’re literally a fish. Literally. I have no idea how you do what you do.”

He felt a minor epiphany while he was in New York, running on the treadmill at his hotel. He realized his goals no longer had anything to do with a clock above a pool.

“I think that was my biggest transition, just setting goals where, my whole life, it’s been times,” he said. “That’s what I’ve done my whole life. Now it’s trying to make the transition to the real world. We get to start a new chapter and we get to do some of the things we’re extremely passionate about. And that’s the fun part.”

After his appearance in Edgewood, Phelps was scheduled to fly to London with Nicole and then back to the couple’s home in Arizona for Boomer’s first Christmas.

Asked what he looks forward to most over the next year, Phelps quickly said his son’s first steps and first words.

“I’m pumped to see it, even though he’s probably going to crush me when he starts to walk,” he said. “I’m going to be running after him nonstop when he’s running around the house, but it’s going to be fun.”

He and Nicole, who quietly married in June, will also finally take a honeymoon in 2017. And a sibling for Boomer? “I’m not pregnant!” Nicole quickly interjected.

BATON ROUGE, La. Entering its game at No. 9 LSU, it had been eight years since an unranked Arkansas team beat a team ranked in the top 10 on the road.

The Razorbacks returned to the scene of that win for another memorable victory Saturday, beating LSU 31 14 in front of a capacity crowd under the lights at Tiger Stadium. Arkansas (6 4, 4 2 SEC) beat a ranked team on the road for the second consecutive week to become bowl eligible.

Arkansas added to the advantage late in the second quarter after Dre Greenlaw forced a fumble by LSU quarterback Brandon Harris and Brooks Ellis recovered it at the 11 yard line.

Arkansas needed only two runs by Collins to extend its lead, going up 21 0 on Collins’ 5 yard run with 3:55 left in the second quarter.

Collins finished with 141 yards on 16 carries. He became the first Arkansas player since Darren McFadden to rush for 100 yards at least eight times in a season.

LSU (7 2, 4 2 SEC) cut the deficit to 21 7 at halftime.

Following Collins’ second touchdown run, the Tigers went 92 yards in nine plays all passing and capped by a 5 yard reception by Malachi Dupre with 24 seconds left in the second quarter.

Dupre caught the pass off a deflection by LSU receiver Travin Dural, converting a third and goal for the Tigers.

Tigers running back Leonard Fournette caught two passes on the drive, but didn’t carry the ball. Fournette, college football’s leading rusher this season,

was bottled up for the much of the first half, rushing 10 times for 34 yards.

Fournette finished the game with 91 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

LSU pulled within 21 14 early in the third quarter on Fournette’s 1 yard touchdown run, but the Razorbacks added a 25 yard field goal by Cole Hedlund later in the quarter to push the lead back out to double digits.

Arkansas extended the lead to 31 14 on Jared Cornelius’ 69 yard run with 10:18 left in the fourth quarter.

The Razorbacks out gained LSU 440 330 yards in total offense.

Editor’s Note: The first sentence originally said it had been eight years since an unranked Arkansas team beat a top 10 team, but it has been fixed to say “on the road.”

LOS ANGELES The Beats Music brand could be singing its last tune.

According to a report published by TechCrunch, Apple has begun to wind down the streaming music service that it acquired in May, with many of its staffers already moved onto other projects at Apple. ITunes is said to be one of them.

Beats Music has not been heavily promoted during Apple’s recent product demonstrations, including the launch of its new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as its Apple Watch.

In fact, the new smartphones do not include Beats Music preloaded as an app an unusual move and sign that Apple has other plans for Beats Music’ technology. U2’s free album was offered through Beats Music.

While the Apple Watch, out next year, will include a music app, Beats Music wasn’t mentioned during its launch demo.

The confusion two separate music services could generate among consumers is said to be one of the reasons Apple is making the move to close Beats Music. Apple also had shut down another streaming service, Lala, after acquiring it.

While Beats Music has the Beats headphone brand helping put it in the spotlight, the service has struggled to compete against more established online players like Spotify, Pandora, Rdio and Google Music.

It had just 111,000 paying subscribers in March, and 250,000 in May, according to Jimmy Iovine. That’s compared to 10 million for Spotify.
