“Compton” is Dre’s first solo album since 2001, his Grammy nominated sophomore effort from 1999 that has sold more than 7 million copies. He said on the show that the album will be his “grand finale.”

An iTunes preorder link shows two Michiganders on the track list: longtime protege Eminem, and recent signee Jon Connor. Eminem is featured on the song “Medicine Man” with Candice Pillay and Anderson Paak. Jon Connor appears on “For the Love of Money” with Grammy winning singer Jill Scott, and he also has his own song, “One Shot Kill,” which features Snoop Dogg.

Connor and The Game, another Dr. Dre protege, are the only two acts to have their own song on the album.

“Compton” also includes appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, and other artists.

Eminem has worked with Dr. Dre since his “The Slim Shady LP” debut in 1999. He also appeared on “Forgot About Dre,” a hit single from “2001.”

Flint native Jon Connor announced a record deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in October 2013, during a performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards. On Saturday, July 19, Connor performed in another episode of “The Pharmacy.”

“Compton” is Dr. Dre’s album since “2001,” but fans have been waiting for years for “Detox,” a solo album that has been talked about for the better part of the last decade. During Saturday’s episode of “The Pharmacy,
