The Helido Trigon family of tools from ISCAR is designed to be provides an efficient, cost effective solution for 90 milling applications. These characteristics make the HeliDo Trigon line suitable for most general milling applications.
Designed mainly for use in rough and semi finish operations, H690 Trigon cutters/inserts are capable of performing other milling operations, such as: slotting, ramping, helical interpolation, pocketing and facing. The cutter bodies are also designed for coolant through spindle applications, with coolant holes directed toward each cutting edge.
The Helido milling cutters incorporate the H690 WNMU 0705. trigon shaped, double sided inserts. The inserts have six positive cutting edges capable of up to 0.275″ (0.7 mm) depth per pass. The pocket design of the cutter body, accompanied by the insert geometry, generates positive radial and axial rake angles providing smooth, efficient milling in a wide range of materials.
“The inserts are available in the latest Sumotec carbide grades, which is another significant factor in achieving optimal life of the cutting edge,” said a company spokesperson.
H690 WNMU 0705 inserts are available in the following configurations:
H690 WNMU 0705 PNTR a general use insert with six right hand cutting edges for milling steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) materials
H690 WNMU 0705PNN MM an insert with six neutral cutting edges; grades/geometries available for machining steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), high temperature (ISO S) and hardened (ISO H) materials
H690 WNMU 0705PNR MM an insert with six right hand cutting edges grades/geometries available for machining steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), high temperature (ISO S) and hardened (ISO H) materials
H690 WNMU 0705PNR RM an insert with six right hand, reinforced cutting edges for heavy roughing applications in steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) materials.
The diameter range of the Helido H690 Trigon family includes 1.25″ and 1.50″ endmills (H690 EWN.) and shell/face mills (H690 FWN.), available in 2″, 3″ and 4″ diameters (larger diameters can be requested).
